We focus our work on population groups that are at risk of, or affected by, social disadvantage or exclusion. Our work centres on the following areas:
- Ageing and ageism
- Health and care
- Social participation
- Discrimination
- Loneliness
- Lifelong learning
In these areas, we use scientific analyses, practical pilot projects, policy advice and educational programmes to identify opportunities for improvement and ways to strengthen social participation and equal opportunities.
Situational analyses and a clear identification of complex problem areas are essential for achieving feasible results that demonstrate impact and change. It is essential to develop innovations and changes in a way that ensures they are accepted.
We provide expert support to organisations, individuals and projects, enabling us to leverage synergies that contribute to active participation and lifelong learning when applied in a meaningful and beneficial way for those involved.
IFSI conducts research and development in various fields and on various topics, including demographic change, gender, migration, civil society, health, education, employment, social affairs, and sports, in cooperation with other partner organisations.
